Mandate

To embrace the opportunity of expansion that now exists within Early Learning and Child Care to build new, strong, healthy relationships with all partners and stakeholders. To ensure community needs and priorities guide the planning process to strengthen our Early Learning & Child Care system. To build on the strengths of existing child care services in the counties of Prince Edward (PE) and Lennox & Addington (L&A) in partnership with all stakeholders within the communities.

Objectives

♦ Increase awareness of the importance of Early Learning and Child Care.

♦ Increase use of Early Learning & Child Care services.

♦ Ensure an Early Learning & Child Care system that is accessible, inclusive, comprehensive, high quality, affordable, and accountable.

♦ Expand regulated Home Child Care to promote and support the above noted Early Learning & Child Care system.

♦ Support the development of additional quality Before School and After School programs.

♦ Enhance opportunities for curriculum & fitness development in the Early Learning & Child Care system.

♦ Support team planning and joint planning through facilitated workshops in all programs.

♦ Engage the School Boards to collaborate with inter-agency linkage opportunities in PE and L&A Counties.

♦ Create simplified access for Parents and Caregivers to programs in the Early Learning & Child Care system offered in PE and L&A Counties.

♦ Provide opportunities for public input on Early Learning & Child Care needs.

♦ Determine measurable outcomes related to the success of the Early Learning & Child Care system.
